What is the PTA?
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a vital partner in the successful operation of SSCS. It serves as a channel for organizing parent ideas, talents, and time to aid SSCS in providing a well-rounded, exceptional educational experience.
Enhancing the SSCS Experience
Teacher and Staff Appreciation
The PTA organizes events and activities throughout the year to express appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the SSCS faculty and staff.
Parent volunteers are needed for everything from classroom representatives, Friday lunch service, the Used Uniform Closet, to organizing special school events such as Grandparent's Day and the Thanksgiving Feast. The PTA provides the parent volunteers necessary to support these needs.
Bringing School Families Together
PTA sponsored events such as the Family Ice Cream Social and Fall Social bring SSCS families together to encourage relationships.

Get Plugged In
PTA officers are elected at the end of each school year. Call the school office, 912-634-8177, if you would like to join our mighty group of parent servants.
In lieu of asking parents to fund raise throughout the year, PTA collects yearly dues to cover expenses such as the Ice Cream Social, back-to-school gifts and lunch for the teachers, family events, student reward activities, as well as gifts to the school that supply needs outside the operating budget. In years past, the SSCS PTA has gifted the school with new basketball and soccer goals, a new fence, and other needed items.
